Over here there are a number of independent bookshops which have survived,by giving their customers an excelllent service, readings, activities for adults, a welcome as you walk in as if you've be a customer for years.

We have two bookshp towns only a short drive away, where one shop in three approx is a bookshop, some specialising, some general.

Hay-on-Wye even declared it an independent state for a while, but we also have Blaenavon another book town.

Alright, there are e-books and much competiton from large retailers, but I note with interest a number of coffee shops with shelves of books to brouse through while you chatter and drink. One even had a magnetic crossword wall.Gay/ lesbian bookshops should be as competitive as any other and many do succeed. Long may they do so.

Apparently over here, some children will never own a book. Nothing there to be poud of.Alan Barkernoreply@blogger.com
