Spain Vacation Day 18 0f 40 - Malaga

A visit to the Picasso museum. Sorry, Picasso does nothing for me. I saw maybe three pieces I liked. The rest you and burn as far as I’m concerned.

Spain Vacation Day 17 0f 40 - Ronda

We were expecting more festivities and another parade today because this Ronda Romantica Festival is supposed to be a three-day event. But there were no festivities, no parade, only a shitload of tourists—everywhere.

We did see the Arab Baths which were interesting. We also walked all over town from end to end, covering more than nine miles.

This is the famous Roman-built bridge that has made Ronda a destination.

It was a relaxing day with lots of walking and a two-hour lunch. And, our hotel room overlooks the bull rink, so there was no need to tour that.

Spain Vacation Day 16 0f 40 - Ronda

We walked out of our hotel around 7pm and found a parade just starting right on our street. Everyone was dressed in 18thcentury Spanish drag. Men were shooting guns in the air. Very loud. Very exciting. What a Wonderful surprise. As it turned out, this was the Ronda Romantica Festival, and will last the entire weekend.

Spain Vacation Day 15 0f 40 - Seville

We walked across town to the Plaza de Espana. It is a huge and glorious plaza with a little of everything—impressive buildings, fountains, canals where tourists can row boats, live music, and tons of tourists.

Spain Vacation Day 14 0f 40 - Seville

We walked across town, had pizza and Caesar salad for lunch, and then toured the cathedral. We started the tour by climbing up and up and up to the bell tower. Great views if Seville. Then down to admire the vast wealth of the Roman Catholic church. It truly is an impressive cathedral—massive and dripping with wealth.

Spain Vacation Day 13 0f 40 - Seville

We toured the Seville Alcazar. Wow. A must see. The Moors occupied this area of Spain for more than 800 years, and what they left is truly breathtaking. The Moorish architecture, tile work, magnificent gardens. I loved it all.

This is a closeup of a ceiling.

Another incredible ceiling.
