Palm Springs Pride 2016

This last weekend was our fifth Palm Springs Pride event. As usual, my ex-lover and his husband drove into town to join the festivities. We had wonderful fun at the pride fair on Saturday, and then enjoyed the parade on Sunday. We ran into dozens of good friends and the day was pure joy.

The pride events always remind me that we gay people are a big part of the American story, and that is a story of slowly moving forward toward a society that values and respects all people. And that knowledge brings joy and satisfaction, even in the face of the hate and bigotry we’ve seen during this election season.
