Day 2 at Ranthambore Tiger Camp

Tiger tracking, and we got lucky on our second safari out. She came out of the brush and crossed the road within ten feet of our vehicle before scattering up a hillside. Our guide told us she was a three-year-old called arrow, because of the arrow-shaped markings on her face.

The Bengal tiger population is slowly increasing here but still, there are only sixty-five wild tigers in the park. The guides tell us they spot a tiger only one in fifteen safaris, and to get this close is a one-in-a-thousand chance.
