Wat Chalermprakiat high over Lampang, Thailand

We drove into northern Thailand, through the colorful town of Lampang, to visit the Wat Chalermprakiat. The Wat can only be reached by climbing a mountain, with an elvation change of about 2,000 feet. Overcast and foggy but luckily no rain. The hike up was muddy and slippery (it had rained the night before) but we were rewarded with great views.

We did not get to chat or pray with the monks. By the time we reached the summit  they were already on their way down.
