Sigiriya, Sri Lanka

Sigiriya. Sorta like Machu Picchu with lines like Disneyland. We climbed all the way to the top, with thousands of others, to take in the great views.

Sigiriya, with the ancient city on top. To be honest, there was not much left of the ancient city. But the views of the area are stunning. There are also some wonderful cave paintings.
It’s a long way up with plenty of people.

View from the top.

This is one of the manmade lakes at the top.

The lion’s claw staircase about three quarters of the way up.

Cave paintings at Sigiriya.

The pool at our hotel with a view of Sigiriya.

Elephant painting in the lobby of our hotel. This area of Sri Lanka is known as the elephant area so you’ll see them everywhere.
