Happy Independence Day

As we celebrate our hot dogs and hamburger and beer and fireworks and family gatherings on this Day of Independence, let us not forget to honor the men and women who came to this country when it was virgin territory, and who struggled and fought and died building a nation based on the principles of freedom for all.

Today we, who stand of the backs of countless ancestors, should feel a heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifice of those who built this nation, and we must take on the responsibility to continuing to craft this country, this world, into something better than we inherited. We owe that to our ancestors, and to our descendants.

Happy 4th, everyone.
