Spain Vacation Day 2-3 0f 40

Two days of walking around Paris to all of Herman and my favorite places. We only ate Asian food at restaurants we had already eaten at on previous trips. The Asian food in Paris is superb, and we know it’s our last chance to get tank up on noodles soups and dumplings and dim sum. In Spain, we rarely do Asian. So, we did nothing new, went to no museums, saw no shows, didn’t hit a single bar. It’s nice to know a city so well that we’ve already seen what there is to see, several times, so that we can relax and just absorb the culture by walking, perusing the outdoor markets and clothing stores, and simply hanging out in the cafes. No agenda. No stress about getting somewhere to see something.

The weather stayed mostly overcast but warm. Our hotel was lovely: a charming, quiet room with a delightful breakfast each morning. They had a lending library and I took Paul Coelho’s The Alchemist, which I once had at home but lent it to Ed Harris and he never returned it. So now I’m reading it again.

It seemed too short a stay in Paris. I look forward to spending more time there on the way home.
